PPAP, the Production Part Approval Process, is the package of evidence a supplier submits to prove a part consistently meets all requirements before regular shipping begins. It is how the OEM confirms your process, not just one sample, can build the part right every time.

What does a PPAP package contain?
A full PPAP is a bundle of documents that together prove the part and the process behind it. It typically includes the design records, a process flow diagram, the PFMEA, the control plan, dimensional results, material and performance test results, measurement system analysis, initial process capability studies, and a signed Part Submission Warrant. The exact set depends on the submission level the customer requires. The point of the package is not paperwork for its own sake: each document answers a question the Supplier Quality Engineer would otherwise have to ask, which is why a complete, well-organized PPAP moves through review far faster.
